DBQ Magazine Article "Oh Frank, How We Love You!"

September 30, 2016 by Quentin Marcellis

Most of us first got a taste of Frank Ocean when he infamously became known around the country as the R&B singer who came out in 2012, and then he released his highly acclaimed album 'Channel Orange. ' His rise as an artist began to increase on a mainstream level. All of us got to experience the talent, and the mystery surrounding Frank Ocean.  Fast forward four years later and Frank is still mesmerizing all of us, by dropping more surprises. He has recently released a music visual titled 'Endless' and then an album a few days later titled 'Blond', along with a magazine "Boys Don't Cry." Frank keeps on showing us all why he is R&Bs newest Prince, and why we are all willing to to wait four years for him to finally drop an album.

Runway Tulsa 2016/Walking for Joshua Christensen

September 22, 2016 by Quentin Marcellis

Walking for Joshua Christensen was seriously the best thing that has happened to me all year. It's been at least 2 years since I have walked a runway, and to be given the opportunity to walk for a designer that has been on Project Runway, (Season 9), was such a great opportunity. I especially loved the pink hair, this was my first time modeling for such a unique, and creative designer. This year for me has started off rough. Moving back from New York, where I lived for two years, persuing my modeling career, and then having to make the tough decision to move temporarily back home, to create a foundation for my life. The crazy thing is, I've received more opportunities in my own hometown, then in New York City. I was depressed the beginning part of the year because I missed New York so much, and I thought that I had failed, by coming back home. What I'm learning is that when you have a dream, the whole Universe conspires ways to give it to you, because the universe wants nothing more then to see you win. To see you be victorious, because that is your purpose in your life. To beat all odds. You are not here to play small. You are here to play big. You are here to evolve into your greatest version, and achieve, and accomplish your hearts desire. I've realized now how much I want to put my city Tulsa, Oklahoma on the map, and create opportunities, and help progress my city in fashion, music, LGBT culture, and overall appeal. Runway Tulsa was amazing, and helped me to realize, and see my true gifts, and talents that I thought I could only access in New York City. The message I ultimately want to share with you all is that your dream, is the dream of the Universe, and nothing you could ever do, will change that.

Runway Tulsa "Media Night" 2016

September 17, 2016 by Quentin Marcellis

I was privileged to represent my agency Linda Layman for Runway Tulsa "Media Night" in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the Lexus Dealership. It was a night of networking, and socializing with local designers, photographers, models, and stylist, participating in Tulsa Fashion Week. Lights, camera's, red carpet, horderves, good vibes, great energy, and beautiful people. I must say I was pleasantly surprised of how lavish, and fancy this event was. I'm excited to rock the runway, it's been three years, and I can't think of a better place to do it, but my home town.

IQue: Spirituality + Fashion?

July 26, 2016 by Quentin Marcellis

So what is Queology exactly? I started this blog, because I wanted a way to express my mind, and bridge the three things I love the most, modeling, fashion, and spirituality. Most people would not usually put those two unique topics together, but I believe they go strongly hand, in hand. I believe the way someone chooses to dress, says so much about that persons soul. Whether someone chooses to express themselves through fashion trends, brands, or throw on a pair of sweatpants, and a white t-shirt.

Buddhist rock Buddhist beads, Gurus wear turbans, and hippies adorn themselves with flower crowns. I don't believe we are all meant to follow the same spiritual path, and to me that is so beautiful. Spirituality not only symbolizes evolving the mind, body, and spirit, but I believe it is ultimately soul freedom to express itself, and individuality to follow your own path to your higher self, even if that may reject popular opinion.

I wanted to create a platform that was so much more then just a typical fashion blog, but a blog that uplifts, motivates, and connects you with your higher self, and with the Universe. Queology is the philosophy, in which I, Quentin Marcellis, approach my personal life, through modeling, fashion, spirituality, metaphysics, and lifestyle. This is my lifestyle blog, where I take you inside my world, and my mind.

Through my words, photography, and life, my goal is to teach you wisdom from my own experiences, heal you through spiritual guidance, and from my own example, motivate you to create a life that you absolutely love, as I manifest mines. Make the Universe bend for you.

Que'd-In: My Love for Fashion & Modeling

July 08, 2016 by Quentin Marcellis

My approach on fashion has always been unique since a young age. I've always been complimented on my unique fashion since, my boldness to wear certain clothing, or how handsome I look in my clothes. Fashion has always been a way for me to build confidence within myself, as a little boy, suffering with insecurities, and self acceptance. When I put on clothes that I am happy in, and look great in, I get a magical boost of confidence.

Modeling has also been another creative outlet for me. I love the feeling I get walking down a runway, all eyes on me, wearing the latest fashion. I think its so ironic that I love two things, that would require someone to naturally be very confident automatically. Especially as a working model, being turned down by agencies, because I was not the right black boy for the job.

I first discovered my love for fashion, and modeling in the church that I grew up in, in Tulsa Oklahoma. I loved dressing up for Church events, participating in pagent shows, and buying new suits for Easter Sunday, or Christmas Eve service. Now as an adult, who has always been extremely spiritual, and not religious, I try to incorporate spiritual messages in my clothes. The majority of the time that message is to simply be a free spirit, be 100% yourself, and wear what makes you happy.

I got this two piece, denim, acid wash outfit, from Cheap Thrills Vintage (3018 E 15th St, Tulsa, OK 74104). The straw hat from JC Penny. A perfect look for any BBQ, music festival, or Summer getaway. When I first saw this outfit, it was on a mannequin, and I wore it to a Coachella party.  I love vintage fashion, because you can find so many unique pieces, that you are not likely to find anywhere else. I also made the pineapple homemade from scratch, also adding sugar to the rim. Perfect for any Summer party.
