Performing My First Live Show At The Yeti "The Situation" Open Mic

February 02, 2017 by Quentin Marcellis

Ever since I can remember music has always been a huge part of my life, and I am extremely grateful, and fortunate to now be actively pursuing what I geniunly love to do. My earliest memories of being around music, is my early childhood, at my Elementary School "Academy Central." I remember my Music class, and my music teacher very vividly. Mrs. Hawkins would annoy me by randomly selecting me to sing in front of the class, much like how an annoying Math teacher will annoy you by randomly calling on you to answer a math question. But what Mrs. Hawkins saw in me, was something I did not see in myself. A talent for music. By calling on me, she was actually helping me to break out of my shell, and let go of fear so that I could share my gift of singing with others. Mrs. Hawkins believed in me so much thiat she asked me to sing the solo at my Elementary School graduation, the song was "One Moment In Time" by Whitney Houston. From my Elementary School choir, my passion for music grew, and I joined my church choir, entered singing competitions, and talent shows. Fast forward to present day, and now I have successfully performed my first single, #CarefreeBlackBoy at a live open mic show called "The Situation," located at "The Yeti" (417 N Main St, Tulsa, OK.) 2017 is off to a great start, and I'm just getting warmed up. Special shoutout to my friends, and family who came out, and stayed late to support me. You can purchase my new single #CarefreeBlackBoy now on ITunes.

Celebrating 25 Years Of Life + 25 Things I've Learned About Life

December 09, 2016 by Quentin Marcellis

I can't believe I'm already 25 years old, these years really have flew by. I'm really becoming more conscious of time the older I get, and how fast it can get away with you, if your are not living in the present, and conscious of how you spend your time. 25 is like this big epiphany that you get, life finally starts to make since, and you start becoming more aware of what you have accomplished so far, and what you are doing with your time here on Earth. Every year someone ask me how does it feel to be a year older, and I never know what to say. This year I can say I honestly do feel older, but most importantly I feel more present, I feel more aware of my life then I did at 24, and I feel like I don't have any more time to waste on people, places, and things that are not helping me evolve, or reach my higher self.

25 Things I've Learned About Life:

1. I am in absolute control of my failures, and sucesss's.

2. I am not in competition with anyone but myself.

3. Learning to love myself, is the greatest love of all.

4. I will never go back to what broke me.

5. Everybody comes in your life for a reason, or a season, if you are lucky a lifetime.

6. Set goals everyday, that lead up to bigger goals.

7. The Universe is not blessing me, or cursing me. The Universe is responding to my vibrational frequency.

8. I am made in the image of God, I lack nothing. Everything I need, my creator has already placed inside of me.

9. I don't need anyone to complete me. I complete me. Anything else is simply a luxury.

10. Attract what you expect, reflect what you desire, become what you respect, mirror what you admire.

11. Life doesn't get easier, I just become more stronger, and resilient.

12. I am, what I attract.

13. Forgiveness is not for the other person, but is for me.

14. Forgiving myself, does not depend on being forgiven by others.

15. Prosperity begins in the mind. Then, it has to be transformed into action. Then, it can manifest itself in physical form.

16. The universe sends us exactly what we are ready for at the exact time we need it in our lives.

17. I've learned that I need to be patient, and kind with myself.

18. I am human. I am always going to make mistakes for as long as I live, and that's completely ok. Except it.

19. Always put your needs, before your wants.

20. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

21.  Never forget what you are, for surely the World will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.

22. I must give without the expectation of something in return.

23. Out do myself everyday.

24. Stay in constant persuite of what sets my soul on fire.

25. Happiness is a choice.

Runway Tulsa 2016/Walking for Joshua Christensen

September 22, 2016 by Quentin Marcellis

Walking for Joshua Christensen was seriously the best thing that has happened to me all year. It's been at least 2 years since I have walked a runway, and to be given the opportunity to walk for a designer that has been on Project Runway, (Season 9), was such a great opportunity. I especially loved the pink hair, this was my first time modeling for such a unique, and creative designer. This year for me has started off rough. Moving back from New York, where I lived for two years, persuing my modeling career, and then having to make the tough decision to move temporarily back home, to create a foundation for my life. The crazy thing is, I've received more opportunities in my own hometown, then in New York City. I was depressed the beginning part of the year because I missed New York so much, and I thought that I had failed, by coming back home. What I'm learning is that when you have a dream, the whole Universe conspires ways to give it to you, because the universe wants nothing more then to see you win. To see you be victorious, because that is your purpose in your life. To beat all odds. You are not here to play small. You are here to play big. You are here to evolve into your greatest version, and achieve, and accomplish your hearts desire. I've realized now how much I want to put my city Tulsa, Oklahoma on the map, and create opportunities, and help progress my city in fashion, music, LGBT culture, and overall appeal. Runway Tulsa was amazing, and helped me to realize, and see my true gifts, and talents that I thought I could only access in New York City. The message I ultimately want to share with you all is that your dream, is the dream of the Universe, and nothing you could ever do, will change that.
